DEPRESSION - "It saved my life in so many different ways, it really has."
"It started when I was 14, right when I hit puberty. Then when I was 17, 18 years old, I'd get in these dark moods, stay in my room and cry. Then it would pass. People put it down to the fact that I was an artist type of person.
As I got older, into my 20's, the depression would last longer. Other people could watch the news, and click turn it off. But for me, it would be days of "I don't understand why the world is like this." That's really how it started for me.
Now, I'm a whole new Kathy. The thing that stinks is that I waited this long. I wish I had known about this all those years, because that was unnecessary pain.
