SPRING CLEANING FOR YOUR BODY

A FINE TIME FOR DETOXIFICATION AND CLEANSING

We clean the outside of our bodies daily, but what about the inside?

Cleansing internally is so important, because your body accumulates far more toxins in the modern world than its natural detoxification system (your liver, kidneys and lungs) can get rid of. Proponents say hundreds and thousands of chemicals like pesticides, insecticides, hormones, preservatives, chlorine, fluoride, bromide and ammonia build up over time and cause disease.

The number of chemicals we ingest daily, though our food, drink and air, are countless, plus other toxic chemicals come from processed foods, smoking and alcohol. Some of the biggest toxins are from pollutants we breathe, vaccinations, heavy metals, and medications. Lastly, there is the fact that emotional stress creates toxic acids in the body that suppress our ability to heal, repair and thrive.

Even for those who are diligent in eating clean diets, it is difficult to avoid these deadly toxins. When we start to consider the number of years we have been eating freely without cleansing our digestive system, especially our liver (one of the hardest working organs of the body), we begin to realize the effect and stress we are putting on our organs, which in turn can be the source of most digestive issues. Everything starts in this core and is often the root cause of most

auto-immune disorders and diseases of all kinds, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high cholesterol, plus many chronic illnesses. When your body shows you a symptom, you need to pay attention and understand why before it manifests into something more serious!

How often does your body move it out?

People are ideally supposed to have one or two bowel movements a day, but many people can go two or three days between eliminations. The normal pathway for toxins to move out of the body is through the liver, which converts harmful chemicals into water-soluble molecules that can be flushed out in the urine or feces.

If there’s a delay in elimination, however, those toxins remain in your system longer and cause a back up of toxic waste. All the more reason to cleanse the organs of the body and help release the build up of nasty toxins.

What goes in must come out.

Feel It Working

Upon starting a cleanse, most will notice they don’t feel well in the first 3-5 days. They will experience headaches, flu-like symptoms, and overall don't feel well. That is perfectly normal, and is a positive sign something is happening and working. Hang in there because the outcome and you are worth it.

Healing From Within

The most important benefit of cleansing is simply this: releasing toxicity out of the body allows it to begin the process of healing itself. If there are toxins present, they will block the body's ability to naturally heal and regenerate. This process perhaps is described best by Hering’s Law of Cure: “All healing occurs from within out, from the head down, and in the reverse order in which the symptoms have appeared.”

To heal from “within out”, you have to cleanse the body of the toxic buildup by flushing it from inside to out. “From the head down” refers to the general state of mind that is positive and affirming of pleasant thoughts. The words “in the reverse order in which the symptoms have appeared” essentially means the most recent symptoms will reverse and disappear before those which have existed longer in the body.

An ounce of Prevention is worth a Pound of Cure

This is so true! Nevermore so, when it comes to what we put in our bodies. “We are what we eat” and “Food is medicine”. Detoxifying or cleansing is essential to healthy living. Spring and fall are the best times of year to accomplish this task.

There are many types of cleanses available, and more often than not, you may need a series of them. Digestive/colon, liver, kidney, parasite and candida are most common. With many of these listed, there will be foods to avoid during the cleanse, and many herbal supplements to take daily in different forms, like capsules, powders and teas. The duration of a cleanse is minimally 3 days to two weeks or more. The more time spent in relieving digestive stress and adding the scrubbing herbs, the better the result.

A good deal of juice cleanses are extremely effective, and another terrific option. Whatever you choose to do, something is always better than nothing! Select something that you know you can do depending on your lifestyle, as you don’t want it to be stressful. You can rest assured that even if you don’t think you feel or notice any changes, they are happening. You certainly have no way of knowing or measuring what you may have prevented, the longevity or quality of life you have just given yourself, but you deserve it!
